Sooooo different

You can just call this another, "Well, duh" moment, but the overwhelming differences in my two little men continue to shock me. Tucker has presented us with so many new challenges that I will from this post on quit attempt to compare him to his brother. As a parent you just know what you know. If your first child is horrible sleeper, then you only assume others are the same. Likewise if you first kid eats every single thing placed in front of them, you don't relate to mothers who do crazy antics to feed their babies.
This is why parenting books are a joke. Every child is different. There are no hard or fast rules. What worked for me will not work for you.
I actually remember laughing the second time I skimmed through, "What to Expect the First Year" book. With Hudson it read like the Bible. With Tucker it was pure comedy.
Some editor felt the need to pose a heartfelt fake question like:

Question: Why is my 12 month old not their friendly self?
And the writer (aka a millionaire) would give some ridiculous vague politically correct answer that covered every possible motive of a baby that more accurately should have read:

Answer: Who the heck knows? Are you happy all the time? Maybe they are hungry or sick or sleepy or tired of your barking dog or ready to walk but can't or don't like their shirt that says "Little Brother" or they have poopy pants or don't like their sitter or are hot or are cold or despise the bow you clipped to their three strands of hair or maybe they have PMS or they're sick of Cheerios and want your diet Coke or not capable of understanding their emotions or had a bad dream or are frustrated you spent $16.95 on this stupid book of non-answers when you could have bought them sixteen ice cream cones at McDonalds. Or, better yet, maybe they are just one.years.old.

They should just call those books Tips that Worked for Me. Subtitled: Buy this book and make me my million.
That said if anyone has a clue how to get amoxicilian down the hatch of my youngest, I would be forever grateful for their tips. Lord knows my shirts and carpet are healthy enough and frankly do not need the full dose they are receiving! Only 18 more doses to go! (But who is counting)

Oh my, that's tough. Both my kids love taking medicine. I guess they like the flavor. It's like candy to them. The only tip I ever got for medicine that has helped is to aim the syringe to the side, almost into their cheek. But that would assume you can get it into their mouth in the first place.
And I so hear you on how different kids are. Unfortunately for us we had a good sleeper the first time around. We expected to get a bad sleeper the second time, but not having been through it nothing could have prepared us for the sleep we've been through the past 17 months.
