I know Hudson will never remember this crazy summer, but so far it has been a lousily hot and humid one. We became zoo members on the first of June and need to go back to make the most of it. Yet who wants to be outside when the air is this thick? Not even the animals are not up for much in these temps. The zoo membership is a really good deal, except it does not come with unlimited rides of their little train ride. Hudson's obsession with all things choo-choo will probably make that a staple of each visit.
Our first day of summer kick-off/playdate was grounded today to the comforts of our air conditioned family room today after yet another morning rainstorm. Hudson will go to the windows during a session of thunder and cover his ears with both hands. Then he will say, "Uh-oH!" with every flash of lightining. He likes to sit outside on our porch during any rainshowers.
We have spent a couple of days at the city pool which is fabulously unbusy when it looks like rain. They have a large sprinkler area in addition to a decent sized toddler pool. Hudson and his buddies enjoy it immensely. I am a big fan of the $1 snowcones, slushies, and an excuse not to bother with my out-of-control curly hair.
