Two firsts and a second

Saturday was a big day for little man. Well, for all of us. After a day working on our kitchen remodel and after Hudson's nap, we headed down to have dinner with the Daughertys at Carmen's parent's house on Sweetwater. Hudson was able to play in a lake for the first time in his life. Naturally there was some trepidation from the beginning. But once Josh and I both got into the water, he was more willing. Ultimately, he wanted to do about the same thing he does at every single pool he visits: play on the steps (or ladder off the dock in this case). Not sure why that is.

After Carmen cooked us up a fabulous meal, the kids played with some sparklers down on the dock. Hudson thought that was fun.
Then we went out on a boat. Ironically, this boat was not our own which Hudson has never seen! (Hey! We have been b-u-s-y!) But he loved his first boat ride. He has talked about it several times since. Josh is considering getting our boat ready for this season. (Those kitchen cabinets can build themselves, right?)

Finally, (have we not done enough yet?!?) I absolutely love fireworks and going to see them from a boat is my favorite thing ever. It has been five years since Josh and I caught this lake's firework show and it was so awesome to see them with Hudson. Hudson will tell you all about the "boom boom"s in the sky. Makes me sad the Fourth is not celebrated more often.

I love all the pictures. Hudson has thinned out; growing taller and movin' along! Glad to see you had a good time.
