Just as our last Christmas guest left us and we snuggled in for a long midday nap, it began to snow earlier today. Waking up an hour and a half later was surreal as our neighborhood went from (dead) green grass and leaves to blankets of white. Hudson's eyes were large as he watched this crazy stuff not just fall, but stick to everything.
So, we bundled up and headed out for a family freeze fest. No mind the temperature, it was beautiful and one particular young man was quite charming experiencing his first snowfall.
We have celebrated one of our three Christmas celebrations; we will have to see if Hudson catches on to the art of unwrapping presents before we are done. Christmas morning he would attempt to take off the decorateive wrap IF what he saw inside provided some intrigue. Hence, those gifts wrapped not in their original box were pretty unpopular! Did I miss memo requiring all children's toys to be under the control of a minimum of twenty five zipties? If a toy DID happen to catch his interest, he was supremely UNinterested an hour later when we had used all of our strength (and pocket knives) to free some poor toy from its secure packaging. No wonder the most successful gift has been a wooden Melissa and Doug stacking toy I purchased (and never wrapped) a day and a half before Christmas. It cost $5.99 and he loves that thing!
