Probably the only thing that I ever read in all of those parenting books that made any sense to me was the concept of the fourth trimester. The premise is that the first 12 weeks of a baby's life are essentially an additionally trimester of pregnancy, out of the womb, where your infant still needs a "lifestyle" similar to the previous 40 weeks. Sleep when they want to sleep. Eat on demand. And so on...
So, for Tucker, I have tried my darnest to be very chill about our lack of routine and crazy little existence. Well, sweetpea, trimester four is o-v-e-r. The smack will come down soon. Ha. Ha. Ha. If motherhood has taught me anything it is that the person three feet tall rules the roost. Unfortunately, Josh and I are precariously close to having two rulers.
Speaking of routines, now that Hudson has started preschool twice a week, bedtime is fantastically easy. AND he sleeps all night AND in his own bed. Only took us to the fourteenth trimester! :)
