Campfire Club

A couple of years ago my brother came down for a weekend and visit and something was said about having a campfire out back. I looooove campfires and so I am confident that I voiced approval of the idea. So time passes, my brother goes MIA, but finally returns to the family room sweaty and proud.
While the rest of us lounged, my brother built us a firepit out back. It has since been upgraded with actual purchased stones and is a source of entertainment for us as often as we can fit it in. This year we have had four campfire Fridays. A modest crew of friends and neighbors have become regulars around our blaze. The kids all love it too. They spend most of their time running around in the dusky summer evenings reeking of bug repellant having their share of smores and kid-related fun.
A recent campfire club was cut short due to rain, but the little ones did not mind. They reconvened in the house reeking havoc on Hudson's room until they were allowed to watch some of their favorite Mickey. The adults were amused that the trio present on this particular evening chose to sit together on one beanbag.
